Emotion and Health

There is considerable evidence that emotional traits, both negative and positive, influence people's susceptibility to infection.

Following systematic exposure to a respiratory virus in the laboratory, individuals who report higher levels of stress or negative moods have been shown to develop more severe illnesses than those who report less stress or more positive moods. —NCCAM

EFT and Mesothelioma

Emotional Freedom Techniques can often be a rewarding option to alleviate symptoms associated with traditional cancer treatment methods. Patients, including those with malignant mesothelioma, have also experienced success in coping with emotions and fears that accompany this type of diagnosis. A Special Noteto performing artists and athletes…

I always thought you needed adrenalin to perform well. Wrong! I learned first hand that joy is a much better chemical than the one used to save us from the saber tooth tiger.

Did you know... that joy is a chemical neurotransmitter

It is manufactured in the body, just like adrenalin, insulin and serotonin.

My first time conducting a major concert was the true test. I had spent much of the day avoiding looking at the music, my old pattern of stress.

Then, remembering I have this tool, I set to work looking at what I was afraid of. It didn’t take long. After the show, I realized I had not had an ounce of fear. I had never had so much fun performing before.

Emotional Freedom Techniques

Do you stress out? Procrastinate? Self-sabotage? Does fear and anxiety get in your way? Is something keeping you from reaching your goals? Who would you be, if you were truly free? Does the past get in the way of your present happiness? What if you had real emotional freedom?

How Do I Get Emotional Freedom?

EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is a gentle method of clearing emotional distress by tapping on the endpoints of the body’s energy channels, the meridians. EFT has been used to provide rapid, lasting relief for a variety of emotional issues. This includes trauma, stress, guilt, anxiety, depression, fears, addictive cravings, and grief. Even the slightest emotional response to a situation can limit our ability to fully engage our talents. EFT can clear these blockages and open us to a real enjoyment of our full potential. It’s also understood now, how much our emotions contribute to illness—some say as much as 85% of all disease is caused by our disruptive emotions.

How Does It Work?

EFT works with your body's electrical system in a way that is similar to acupuncture—only without the needles. The basis of EFT is that all negative emotions are caused by a disruption in the body's energy system.

EFT balances the body's energy system while tuning into a specific problem. Emotional distress is eliminated when the electrical system is no longer disrupted. Tapping on specific acupoints clears the disturbance. In many cases the relief is instant and the distress does not recur. Where there are many aspects to a particular problem, the process takes longer. Re-living a trauma or any type of catharsis is not a necessary part of EFT. The need is only to tune in—think about the issue—and tap.
